Stephen Quigg
Stephen Quigg was born in Ayrshire and still travels from there to his gigs throughout Europe. He has gained a huge following, particularly in the Highlands of Scotland, where his repetoire ranges from sensitive traditional ballads to foot stamping Scottish folksongs. One of the secrets of Stephen's success is his "way" with an audience. His introductions are relevant and often hilarious, keeping him in demand as a compere at concerts and festivals. He has a rare combination of musical skill and a sense of fun, and has appeared regularly in TV and radio, featuring as a resident in a popular Radio 2 series which was broadcast throughout Britain. Apart from singing, Stephen plays guitar, banjo and bodhran. He plays in clubs, concerts, hotels and festivals, where his skills have earned him an enviably healthy date sheet. In 2001 Stephen was asked to join the internationally acclaimed McCalmans, and has become a popular addition to the band. |
