Jayne Sarah

Following on from her debut performance at Stonehaven Folk Club in June 2006, Jayne Sarah performed at Stonehaven’s Plainstones and at Stirling, Partick and Glenfarg Folk Clubs. Her growing reputation as a talented vocalist and entertainer was enhanced through opening spots for Old Blind Dogs in Comrie in December 2006 and Rallion at the Star Folk Club in February 2007 along with a performance on the Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Open Stage in January 2007. After appearing at the Glenfarg Open Stage in April, Jayne was invited as a guest artist to perform at the village folk club on 30 July 2007.

Jayne SarahA visit to Big Sky Studios in the Scottish Borders, initially for a demo recording, sparked an interest from Big Sky director Tom Roseburgh and producer and multi instrumentalist Stevie Lawrence. Jayne’s debut album is scheduled to be released by Big Sky early 2008. This visit also resulted in Jayne performing harmony vocals on singer/songwriter Stan Graham’s new release, 'Along the Way' which was released in August 2007. Jayne has also recently been involved in media recordings and has recorded with singer/songwriter, Craig Jeffrey.

Jayne Sarah has been developing original material as well as exploring traditional and contemporary musical influences, such as Richard Thompson, Karine Polwart, Maddy Prior and Shawn Colvin. In July 2007, Jayne was delighted to join Kristina Olsen by personal invitation on the main stage at Stonehaven Folk Festival to perform harmony vocals in three of Olsen’s original songs. Jayne appeared as guest artist at Stonehaven Folk Club on 10 August 2007 and will be appearing at Denholm Folk Club on 23 August 2007. Performing with Jayne Sarah are Gerry Sullivan on guitars and Stevie Lawrence on bouzouki and guitars.
