Falkirk Fiddle Workshop
Falkirk Fiddle Workshop was founded in 1997 and now has members ranging from absolute beginners
to advanced players. The aim of the group is to promote traditional fiddle music to individuals
who wish to develop their skills and playing techniques.
One of the aims of the Workshop is to teach music by ear, maintaining the traditional methods of handing tunes down through the generations. However, an ability to read music will be found to be an advantage.
The Workshop meets in Forth Valley College on Tuesdays during term time. Each meeting begins
with a slow session in which players from all skill group take part. This gives the beginners
experience in playing in groups and gives a feeling of fellowship throughout the workshop.
