Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve

Scottish Wildlife Trust's (SWT) interests are spread across Scotland and their headquarters are in Edinburgh. With conservation at the heart of the organisation, they are committed to giving homes, a voice and access to wildlife. Our natural environment is under more pressure than ever. Through the support provided by their members, they are able to offer practical conservation solutions through habitat management and ensure that they can challenge others with their independent voice and expertise.

Osprey nestLoch of the Lowes covers 98 hectares and from early April to late August the star attraction is a pair of breeding ospreys. Their nest is situated within 150 metres of our observation hide, allowing osprey family life to be observed through binoculars, telescopes and closed-circuit television (CCTV).

In 2007, three eggs have been laid. Read Perthshire Reserves Ranger, Andrea Williams' account as the progress unfolds in her reserve diary .
