Elcho Castle

Elcho Castle is a handsome and remarkably complete fortified mansion with three projecting towers. It was built in the 16th century by the Wemyss family, whose descendents still own it. Overlooking the River Tay, the tower-shaped castle has many original features, including the ruins of the courtyard, the chapel and a round tower with kiln. The castle, which had fallen into decay, was re-roofed in 1830.

Elcho Castle is 8km north east of Bridge of Earn off the A912 and close to Rhynd.
