Victoria Park - Aberfeldy
Victoria Park in Aberfeldy has a recently upgraded fantastic play area. It includes
safety surfacing, earth mounding and natural play logs, boulders and planting, challenging rope climbs,
various swings, slide and a silicon-glass shade sail (7mx7m) which will provide some much needed
shelter in the park along with a wide range of seating. This new area adjoins the existing skate
park.
The
project was driven by the Friends of Aberfeldy Parklands Group (FoAP). It is made up of local people
and represents parents, playgroups, youth groups, sports clubs, shop owners and neighbours. The
group came together as a result of the meeting of like minded parents who were concerned about
the state of the failing and un-challenging play equipment on offer in the park. With the drive
and enthusiasm of the FoAP members and the backing of the local community, Aberfeldy now has one
of the best play areas in Perthshire.
